Hill's Pet Nutrition gets national honor for economic development work in Kansas - KVOE

A company with a significant local presence is being honored for its economic development efforts elsewhere in Kansas

Governor Laura Kelly mentioned Hill’s Pet Nutrition and the state’s Department of Commerce for receiving a Business Facilities 2021 Deal of the Year Impact Award in specialty manufacturing. Governor Kelly says Hill’s is a “game-changer” in growing the Animal Health Corridor, which stretches from Kansas City west to Manhattan and south to Lyon County.

The award is for Hill’s work to build a manufacturing plant in Tonganoxie. Hill’s has been established in Emporia since late 2010, when it opened an 85-acre, 500,000 square-foot facility in southeast Emporia.
